 Deco week in Pasadena
Hi everyone, Most of you know me, I'm Steve Kin. Many of the older rosefloaters called me Skin. Deco week is rapidly approaching, and it will start to really get busy in and around the tent area faster than you can say " Christmas is over". Tim Okuma and Myself are hosting the Hospitality Tent, where everyone checks in before working on the float.

We are starting to get sign-ups underway and are looking for Alumni and friends to come by and offer to help for as many hours as possible. The tent opens up for business on the 26th at 8 AM till 10 PM each day through the 31st. We like to have 2 to 3 people available at all times to help process paperwork and to escort folks into the tent area. Lunches and dinners are offered to all who stick around and help. If you have never helped work the tent, it is the next best thing to actually getting dirty pushing petals.

It is a great job for us Alumni willing to give back and stay active with Rose Float. For me it has been a 37 year experience, and I have loved every minute of it. Working around all that energy and youth, helps keep you young. I hope some of you will contact me directly and say you want to help out. With so many Alumni out there you would think we would be over run with help, but it has never happened. So few have done so much with so little. That's the old Rose Float motto and it still applies today.

For contact info, please click [Read the rest].  and I will love to chat and help you schedule a time slot for the check-in tent that fits you. Call any time... Steve

Burger Continental Monday 12/28 at 7 pm
I have just been informed that dinner at BC has been moved to Monday, 12/28 at 7 pm.  The original tentative date was Sunday, 12/27.

Please join us for a Rose Float Alumni tradition of having dinner with old friends and viewing the float.  Attended by people from both campuses, we've been meeting there for at least 10 years now.  Before that, we were meeting at Ernie's.  Look for us in the enclosed room adjacent to the patio out back or just ask the staff.

Rose Float Move Out Dinner and Toast on December 20th
The CPRF Alumni and Friends Dinner will be held at the Acapulco Restaurant, Diamond Bar Blvd. (just below Temple), Diamond Bar at 6:30pm. Acapulco generously makes a donation to the students on every dollar that we spend that evening. We will have a reserved area so we hope you can make it. Just ask for the Cal Poly Rose Float Alumni when you arrive. (Dinner is on your own)

If you can't make dinner but would like to come for the Champagne Toast and celebration, please join us at 8:15pm at the Lab.

Although RSVPs are not necessary, it would help to know if you are planning to attend to be sure we reserve the correct amount of space. Please send a note with how many will attend Acapulco to my email below. Looking forward to seeing you!

Please join us next Sunday, December 20 at 8:30 p.m. for our annual christening of the float prior to moving out to Pasadena. Thank you!

 Sep Newsletter
By now you should have received the latest issue of the Pink Line.

After 10+ years, I figured it was time for me to step down and Jeremiah Petsas, a recent grad and now a White Suiter, has decided to take on the responsibility of putting together the newsletter. The toughest part of the job is scrambling for content so please contact Jeremiah if you have anything you'd like to share.

As for the website, much to the dismay of my wife, I can't quite let go so I still plan to be involved online. I have replaced the original calendar with an embedded Google Calendar that will show not only our Alumni Chapter calendar but also the students' calendars. Any changes will automatically appear which should make it easier for everyone to keep track of what everyone else is doing. Finally Matthew Yeseta, another recent grad, has also volunteered to help with keeping this website up to date.
